These Cheese Danish pastries are made from store bought puff pastry so you don’t have to spend an entire morning making the puff pastry from scratch. These are as close as it can get to our very favorite Starbucks Danish pastries.
You could have these for a week-end breakfast or an after school snack.

Although Cheese Danish is most favored combination as a topping, you could use any other toppings too or better yet just top with fresh fruit.
Another thing is shaved chocolate which my kids would vouch for.
No matter what your topping just forget the final drizzle to make these Danish pastries your own. Just mix some powdered sugar and milk and make the glaze and drizzle it on the Danishes.

Milk
Step by step instructions to make Cheese Danish:
Prepare for baking.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
Prepare the Pastry
Thaw the Pastry sheet for 40 minutes on the kitchen counter.
Unfold and Pastry sheet on floured surface or on a parchment paper and slice in half.
Slice each half into three columns and once lengthwise to make 6 separate pieces from each half of the Pastry sheet.
This will make 12 Danishes from each whole sheet.
Use a knife to score about ¼ inch border in each of the pieces to create space in the middle to add the filling. The borders will rise in the oven creating a well-like effect.
Beat the Egg and brush the edges of the Danish with egg wash.

Make the cheese filling
In a medium bowl, using either stand mixer or a hand mixer, beat the cheese.
Add Sugar, Vanilla extract and Lemon juice and beat to mix properly.
Eyeball about 12 equal portions of 8 Oz cheese block so there is enough for all the Danish pastries.
Scoop some Cheese into the middle of the Danish and spread evenly.

Bake
Bake the Danish for 16 to 17 minutes
Remove from the over and place on a cooling rack.
How to make sugar glaze.
In a small bowl, whisk the powdered sugar and milk to make the glaze. The consistency should be one that you can drizzle. If the glaze is too thick, add just a splash more milk at a time until the correct consistency is reached.
Drizzle the glaze atop the pastries. Serve warm or at room temperature.
